For nearly half a decade, the Investors Bank Band has been performing at various events throughout New Jersey and New York. The band capitalizes on the musical talents of its employees, which now number at more than 1,800 throughout our corporate offices and more than 150 branches. Serving as more than just an artistic outlet, the band participates in concerts that raise money for a variety of worthy causes.
Formed in 2013, the Investors Bank Band was initially created to play a concert series that would benefit charities for the devastation suffered during Hurricane Sandy. Around $10,000 was raised for the Robin Hood Foundation, Family to Family, and the Sandy Ground Project. Excited by the success of the band, more performances were booked to raise money for other organizations such as the Morristown Soup Kitchen, the Ronald McDonald House (New Brunswick Chapter) and the Freehold Arts Festival.
The Investors Bank Band plays a range of music types including doo-wop, classic rock, and the hits of today.
“Investors Bank employees are a diverse group of people, and they’re encouraged to bring in their own styles and influences,” says Dennis Budinich, who serves as Investors’ Chief Culture Officer and was a force behind the band’s creation. “Everyone is welcomed to join, from branch staff to executives. I always tell employees, it is a great way to meet people you might otherwise not get to interact with.”
“There are a number of things that sets Investors apart from other employers, but I’ll just say this: what other bank that you know of has a band?” says KyAsia Youngblood, a Training Specialist who sings with the band. “We go out, have a good time, and put on a show for a good cause!”
Year after year, the Investors Bank Band never misses a beat when it comes to supporting the community. When we work together, it is music to our ears.
